The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
Action 03 March 2017
Another installment in the popular action-adventure game series by Nintendo, and also the first game in the series for WiiU. In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you play once again as the main character of the franchise, Link, who gets involved in yet another exciting and dangerous adventure as he tries to learn what led to the downfall of the land of Hyrule. The gameplay is a combination of several genres: adventure, action RPG, and even survival. During the game, you explore the open world, solve puzzles and fight enemies; the combat is arcade-like and requires you to use varied tactics. You also have to gather resources in order to prepare food and drink, which affect your abilities, just like pieces of equipment.
The Escapists 2 (Switch)
Simulation November 2017
A sequel to the 2015 game by Mouldy Toof which was a unique arcade 2D platformer with elements of logic and RPG productions. In The Escapist 2, the players assume the role of inmates locked up in heavily-guarded prisons, and their task is to work out the security system and to escape. To do so, we have to look for allies and items that can be crafted into useful tools while pretending that we tend to our usual prison routines. Compared to the original, the game features a myriad of enhancements such as new ways of spending spare time, a modified combat system, a possibility of creating previously unavailable items, and new ways of escaping. One of the biggest novelties is the introduction of a drop in/drop out multiplayer mode in which up to four players can play on a split screen or over the Internet.
Strategy 10 August 2017
A turn-based strategy game set in a steampunk world and inspired by both the mechanics of the Puzzle Quest series and the works of such writers as Herbert Wells or Jules Verne. Ironcast is set in an alternative version of the Victorian England, and the country has been at war with France for a decade. When the French are beginning to gain the upper hand in the conflict, a private association is founded in order to produce cutting-edge combat mechs. The player battles subsequent skirmishes that utilize the mechanics once introduced in the so-called "match-3" logic games. During each turn, the player can match objects on the map up to three times, erasing elements which symbolize money, ammo, energy, repairs, or the mech's cooling system. Afterwards, those are used to reinforce the player's combat machines, as well as to activate different special abilities. The in-game campaigns are randomly generated, and each time, the player's goals are to stop the forces of the French, and defeat their boss in a final fight.

Arcade November 2017
A third-person view adventure game developed by Tequila Works studio from Spain, which successfully debuted in 2012 with a post-apocalyptic platformer Deadlight. You assume the role of a boy who is trying to escape a mysterious island that conceals a sinister past. During the course of the game you will solve numerous puzzles, using a magical artifact that allows you to manipulate the environment and time. The title, despite being an action game also includes many platformer elements. The hero travels through an open world, climbs craggy cliffs, and jumps over chasms. Apart from being skilled, you also have to be perceptive, as light, sound, and touch (thanks to the technology offered by PS Vita and DUALSHOCK 4) play a vital role in Rime. The game features a 3D environment, colorful visuals, and a comic book-like visual style.
Snake Pass (Switch)
Arcade 28 March 2017
An action platform game with logical puzzles. It was developed by British studio Sumo Digital. The title is based on a prototype created by Seba Liese during a Game Jam. Snake pass tells a story about the adventures of a snake and his friend, a hummingbird. Together they must find keys to the magical gates that provide magical power to the Harmony Foothills. They are doing it in order to defeat a mysterious intruder who threatens the lives of the inhabitants of the realm. The game takes place in a three-dimensional environment and the player takes control of the aforementioned snake. The protagonist’s movement was recreated in a pretty realistic way. It means that, for example, he cannot jump, but instead he crawls along the ground, wraps around objects and swims. All of these actions must be used in order to defeat various obstacles and to find well hidden collectibles. In some situations the friendly hummingbird helps the snake by catching him by his tail and transporting to seemingly unavailable places.
Human: Fall Flat (Switch)
An unusual logic action game in which the realistic physics engine is the main element. It was developed by No Brakes Games, a Lithuanian studio. The protagonist of Human: Fall Flat is an ordinary man named Bob. He is trying to solve the mystery of dreams of falling that haunt him. In the game, we are taken to a slightly surreal world from Bob’s dreams, where he has to face his own fears, traversing several lands full of various obstacles. The gameplay mechanics are based mainly on exploration and solving puzzles by manipulating objects in the environment. Everything is governed by the realistic physics engine that manages the behavior of all items and the unusual controls that are characterized by significant inertia of the protagonist. Human: Fall Flat is designed not to impose any specific way of doing things but to reward creativity and the ability to think outside the box.
World of Goo (Switch)
Arcade 16 March 2017
Pikmin 4 (Switch)
Ittle Dew 2+ (Switch)
Action November 2017
A port of 2016’s Ittle Dew 2 for Nintendo Switch. Ittle Dew 2+ offers better graphics, expanded with several extra attractions, but practically is the same production as the original. The gameplay combines elements of adventure and arcade games. While playing, we follow a girl named Ittle, who found herself on a mysterious island with her companion, Tippsy. The characters have to escape the dangerous location that is full of enemies by finding eight elements of a raft. The task isn’t simple, though, since they have to tackle a number of varied opponents and puzzles that usually involve finding items and placing them in the right spots. Ittle Dew 2+ was developed by Ludosity, the creators of the original. The game was published by Nicalis which also helped in promoting the original and also released several other titles, including The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.
Adventure 03 May 2017
An arcade roguelike game developed by a team of independent developers: Benedict Fritz, Greg Wohlwend, Joel Corelitz, David Laskey and Jenna Blazevich. Players are taken to a fantastic, fairy-tale like world as a titular seed. Their task is to climb to the peak of a high mountain to save the hero’s house from incoming threat. TumbleSeed’ gameplay revolves around traversing five varied, procedurally generated environments, like jungle, desert and ancient temples. The protagonist rolls on a platform located on the screen, as we balance the platform left or right to dodge traps and enemies. That doesn’t mean that the seed is defenseless – it's got more than 30 special abilities. TumbleSeed stands out with its two dimensional visuals: unique, psychedelic and filled with colors. It is complemented by a soundtrack composed for the game, which balances between trance and ambient genres.
ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove (Switch)
Action December 2017
Another installment in the action-adventure game series about two strange aliens – ToeJam and Big Earl. During their interstellar journeys, their ship crash-lands on a nearby planet, which turns out to be Earth. The heroes and their friends (on some rare occasions you will also control Peabo and Lewanda) need to find replacement parts for their vessel in order to go home. Similarly to the first part of the game, ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove presents the action from the isometric point of view. The mechanics consists of free exploration, fighting ridiculous enemies, and playing funny minigames. During the game, the heroes come across mysterious presents which can either help or harm – the only way to find out is to open them. Co-op is surely an asset – each adventure can be played solo or with up to three other players. All of this is complemented by great visuals – the world and the characters seem like they were cut out from paper, and the depth is intensified by the 3D perspective. The pleasurable soundtrack is inspired by music trends of the 90s.
