A sequel to the Valve Software's best-selling game that set new standards for the FPS genre back in 1998. Half-Life 2 is set several years after the events of the first game. Once again, the player assumes the role of Gordon Freeman – a doctor of physics who used to work in Black Mesa Labs, where an unfortunate incident opened a portal for alien life forms to invade the Earth. This time, the story takes us into a fictional City 17 and its immediate vicinity.

A sequel to bestselling shooter franchise from Bungie Software, which debuted 2001 as one of the launching titles of the Xbox console. We meet old friends from the first Halo, such as Master Chief or Cortana, who now try to protect the cradle of humanity against the assault of aggressive Covenant forces. The game reuses the best features of its predecessor while taking players to a completely new environment, filled with even more interesting and complex locations.

Original FPP shooter, created after many perturbations by Saber Interactive studio team. In the game we play as a nameless rebel who has to face a mad scientist, doctor Aiden Krone. Thanks to inventing the method of time travel, he managed to change the past in such a way that all humanity was subordinated to his corporation.

Halo: Combat Evolved is a futuristic FPP/TPP shooter that was a launch title of the Xbox console and became Microsoft's first system seller. It was developed by Bungie Software, a studio previously known for the Myth series. The game tells the story of a conflict between humans and aliens that are bent on annihilating our kind. We play as a genetically modified soldier and a member of an elite military unit that was established in order to defeat the alien threat.

After a series of spin-off productions released for the 6th-generation consoles, the popular FPS franchise comes back in a full-fledged multiplayer installment. In accordance with the title, the events of the World War II are observed through the eyes of Boyd Travers, a paratrooper of the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division.

An official expansion pack for Doom 3. It was developed by Nerve Software, under the auspices of the base game's creators. Resurrection of Evil continues the storyline established in the core game, once again taking the player to the secret research facility on Mars. It turns out that defeating the powerful Cyberdemon and destroying the portal leading to hell were not the only problems of the Union Aerospace Corporation.

We play as a cadet of the elite Tarsus academy who gets involved in the middle of the conflict between powerful corporations and terrorist organizations, each of which sees the future of the new world in its own way.

Unreal II brings a continuation to a classic FPS game released in 1998. The second installment was created by Legend Entertainment, and contrary to the spin-offs developed in the meantime (Unreal Tournament) it was created specifically to deliver a single player experience. The player takes on the role of John Dalton - an ex-soldier and a law enforcer, who patrols a distant sector of space aboard a vessel named Atlantis.

City of the Dead is a first person shooter, whose names were lent by George A. Romero, the famous director of the horror/gore film series, who since 1968 has been successfully shooting further pictures about the struggle of people with zombies.

The action of Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945 takes place in the last days of World War II, and during the game we play as Peter Maurer - elite German sniper, recruited by the American OSS agency.

A sequel to a well-received FPS game developed by Volition. Red Faction II is set five years after the events depicted in the original game, when a civil war breaks out in the Commonwealth. The player assumes the role of Alias - an explosives expert belonging to a team of six super nanosoldiers. The protagonist joins a rebellion against Victor Sopot's totalitarian regime. In terms of mechanics, Red Faction II expands the patterns introduced in the first installment.

In addition to the base game, the package includes the Vietcong extension: Fist Alpha, introducing new storylines, additional missions and maps, as well as optional weaponry.

A fast-paced first-person shooter developed by Polish studio People Can Fly. In Painkiller the player assumes the role of Daniel Garner, who upon dying has been assigned to stop the armies of hell led by Lucifer himself. The story told in the game is linear and the campaign is split into five chapters, each one consisting of several levels. The gameplay is based on fighting hordes of enemies – all sorts of creatures coming straight from hell as well as even more powerful bosses.

The main plot of Unreal Championship 2: Liandri Conflict revolves around Anubis, a fighter attempting to destroy the dangerous Liandri Corporation. Similarly to the games from the main series, the plot is just an addition to the epic multiplayer battles conducted by the players from all around the world, in different gameplay modes.

A spin-off to Unreal, the popular series of first-person shooters. The title was developed by Digital Extremes and is available only on Microsoft consoles. The game uses gameplay solutions from both installments of Unreal Tournament and combines a well-developed multiplayer mode with option to play the game alone by fighting AI-controlled bots.
