Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition

A brutal fighting game and a reboot of the Mortal Kombat video game series - one of the most popular fighting-oriented franchises, launched back in 1992. The game was created by NetherRealm and the works were supervised by Ed Boon - the father of the series. This new installment is based on the best mechanics of its predecessors, both improving and modernizing the classic Mortal Kombat experience. Thus brutal fighting is the core of the game - fights are filled with spectacular special attacks and creative ways of finishing off the enemy. The players received a massive number of both well-known and completely new fighters. The new X-Ray system was introduced as well, allowing the player to launch special attack sequences. New game modes were also added, including challenges, Story Mode and Tag Team, which allows two teams of two players to fight against each other. Combining classic elements with the new can be also observed in the visuals that combine 2D and 3D elements.

Mortal Kombat for PC / Windows is another edition of a cult fighting games series, known for extreme brutality, vivid characters, and gory finishers called Fatalities. Behind it stands the team of NetherRealm Studios (formerly: Warner Bros. Games Chicago), managed by the father of the brand, Ed Boon.

In Mortal Kombat the emphasis is put on brutality and persistence. Combat is not only dynamic, but above all very gory, which fans of the series will certainly deem as a great asset. In terms of gameplay mechanics, the new Mortal Kombat is a modernized version of old, 2D editions. This means that combat, although displayed in 3D, takes place in two dimensions. This way the developers tried to tie classic experience with modern vibe. The latter is also made visible thanks to a completely new graphic engine designed specifically for the new Mortal Kombat.

Among all innovations that were included in the NetherRealm Studiosí game, two game modes are worth mentioning: Story Mode (which is not just a mediocre addition, but a full-fledged component) and Tag Team. The latter is a battle of two teams - in online play this creates an opportunity to participate in a fight of up to four players. A valid part of the multiplayer mode in Mortal Kombat are classic 1 vs. 1 battles (also offline) and Co-op Arcade Mode. Another novelty is the challenge mode, in which heroes have to deal with specific objectives, such as: fight off a horde of zombies, or win a fight using just special moves. On top of that there are various mini-games for all the game characters.

Another innovation in the series is X-ray system, designed for special, extremely violent attacks. It is based on a three-part energy bar, that is being loaded by receiving damage and performing special moves. Once the bar is fully loaded, you can perform a powerful sequence of strikes. Each player has a unique X-Ray combination.

There are many well-known and liked characters in Mortal Kombat for PC / Windows. You can play as: Raiden, Shao Khan, Johnny Cage, Reptile, Nightwolf, Mileena, Kung Lao, Sector, Sub-Zero, and others.
