Deadlight

Another production set in a zombie-infested world. Deadlight, however, is an atmospheric 2D platform game, inspired by classic hits such as Another World or Flashback. It's the first title produced by Tequila Works, whose members used to work for such companies as Blizzard or Sony. You play as a former national park ranger named Randall Wayne, who's trying to find his missing wife and daughter. Going through the devastated streets of Seattle, underground sewers, and a military base, the protagonist needs to be wary not only of zombies, but also the soldiers hunting them, who open fire at anything that moves without hesitation. The game features an intriguing post-apocalyptic atmosphere and peculiar visuals. Although Deadlight utilizes the advanced Unreal Engine 3, you only see the character's shadows on the detailed animated backgrounds.

Deadlight is an arcade logic platformer game set in an alternative version of our world. It was developed by an independent studio, Tequila Works. It is also the debut production of Tequila Works, founded by former employees of such studios as Blizzard Entertainment, MercurySteam, Pyro Studios, SCE Europe, Triumph Studios and Weta Digital.

In Deadlight, we learn the story of a man named Randall Wayne, who has to survive in the post-apocalyptic version of our world. The protagonist travels along the coast in the United States, where a virus of an unknown origin turns people into crazed killers. Traversing subsequent locations, Wayne tries to understand the meaning of the flashes from the past that haunt him.

The game combines platformer elements with puzzles. The player’s task is to wade through subsequent, increasingly complicated levels that do not lack for various arcade and logic puzzles Deadlight’s graphics are especially noteworthy – the developers combined the solution from such hits as Limbo (dark character figures) with incredibly realistic and well-designed backgrounds.

The PC version of Deadlight has prettier graphics and comes with a number of extras, for example: the official soundtrack. The most interesting bonus, though, is the very challenging game mode called Nightmare.
