Valdis Story: Abyssal City is a 2D open planking machine with an open world structure. The game was developed by an independent studio Endless Fluff Games, the same band that created Legend of the Fae.

Forty years before the action, the Dark Goddess Myrgato killed her mother Valdis. This crime led to the outbreak of war between Myrgato and her twin sister, the Goddess of Light Alagath. This conflict has devastated the world and most of the inhabitants of the land have been forced to speak on one side. The player takes on the role of a warrior named Wyatt, whose father spent most of his life looking for a way to end the War of the Goddesses. Eventually, however, he failed and the duty to complete this mission fell on the shoulders of his son. Following his father's advice, Wyatt and his companions find themselves in the ruins of the forgotten city of Sitheil, where he hopes to find answers to his questions.

Valdis Story: Abyssal City belongs to the category commonly referred to as 'Metroidvania'. This means that it is a platformer with a large open world that you can explore to your heart's content. Great emphasis was placed on the combat system. The hero under our direction has a number of different attacks, both armed and hand-to-hand. In clashes we also use magic. All these offensive actions can be combined into spectacular combinations that increase the damage dealt.

As the game progresses, the hero becomes more and more powerful. The experience points gained are used to develop a skill tree that provides access to new talents and power. Players can specialize in specific aspects, or distribute points among many different disciplines. The combat potential of the character and its strength is also influenced by the chosen weaponry and armour.

During the adventures we will spend most of our time visiting the ruins of a forgotten city. This place is full of secrets to discover and monsters to kill. Our opponents include obedient Myrgato demons, faithful Alagath angels and reasonable beasts who do not stand on any side in the Goddess War. Many locations are initially inaccessible and we will only reach them once we have acquired specific skills.
