Burnout Legends for PSP and NDS is the fourth installment in the famous series of virtual racing games, released periodically from the beginning of the 21st century. As always, the developers omitted the simulation elements, offering a game with high-octane dynamic action. Therefore, the game has a typical arcade character, and should please especially those users, who are characterized by good reflexes.

Gameplay

The cars included are divided into three classes, depending on the vehicle’s purpose. Thus, we control a bi-axial machines for drag racing, or take over very powerful racing cars, which maintain a perfect grip on turns. There also is a special group of vehicles, created for wreaking great havoc in road traffic. From all the available vehicles, this group is perfectly suited for capturing the essence of Burnout series – which is causing spectacular collisions in true Hollywood style.

Mechanics

Needless to say, controlling all cars delivers an immersive experience, as the developers perfectly managed to capture the feeling of speed, and prepared an extensive damage system. Therefore, as a result of crashes, we see flying wheels, contorting bodywork, sparks, etc. The spectacular explosions and evocative sound effects accompanying the crashes weren’t forgotten.

Aside from that, a number of different race tracks was created. We race among other rivals, or even the normal traffic participants. Among the available locations, we visit places modeled after real cities, like Detroit, Tokyo, or Rome. Aside from racing with AI, Burnout: Legends for PSP and NDS offers a multiplayer mode, where we can compete with five other players.
