Cricket 2004, released on PC and PS2, is another production dedicated to cricket. Traditionally, the developers decided to expand the solutions known from the previous edition and updated all the line-ups of the licensed teams. Among the novelties, the game offers several game modes, more teams and stadiums, as well as improved audio-visuals.

Mechanics

In terms of gameplay mechanics, we are dealing with a classic control system that represents a compromise between realistic simulation and pure arcade. Just before we hit the ball, we can give it the desired rotation and send it in the desired direction. The situation is similar for the thrower.

Game modes

At the beginning of the game, we choose the team that we want to lead to victory. With Create-a-player, nothing stands in the way of creating your dream player by determining his appearance, name and skill level. The game also has plenty of game modes to choose from. In addition to a standard single match, we can take part in training, a tournament played in the cup system, or a specific tournée in all the stadiums in a given country.

The developers paid great importance to recreate the stadiums as faithfully as possible. Players can choose from over 75 stadiums. They don't have a licensed name, but their characteristic elements or the appearance of the stands have been faithfully recreated.

Technical aspects

As befits an EA Sports game, the entire course of the meeting is presented in the form of a TV broadcast. Therefore, after the most effective games, we have the opportunity to see a replay from various camera shots. The teams are cheered by their fans. The game also features a professional commentary.
