Evolution Skateboarding

A game reminiscent in many ways of the famous "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" series. We play the role of a skater, performing crazy and highly scored tricks. New boards or equipment elements can be unblocked.

Evolution Skateboarding is an unofficial continuation of ESPN X Games Skateboarding. The title is in many ways similar to the iconic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. As in the case of the games released by Activision, we play as a skater, and our task is to perform crazy stunts on a skateboard. Konami is responsible for the development and publication of the title. Evolution Skateboarding was released on two hardware platforms - PlayStation 2 and Gamecube. As for the quality of visuals and gameplay, both titles display a very similar level of quality.

As usual, we have the opportunity to create our own skater before the actual game starts. The character then progresses, making individual tricks easier to perform. However, nothing stands in the way of choosing one of actual champions of this sport. These include Colin McKay, Arto Saari, Rick McCrank, and Kerry Getz. In addition, Konami has prepared several hidden characters. Lovers of the Metal Gear Solid saga will certainly be interested in the presence of Solid Snake.

There are several different maps to overcome. It should be added, that the type of individual tasks depends on specific preferences of the chosen skater. If we choose a different character, we can count on some attractions we haven't seen so far. As far as the levels are concerned, a very similar formula to the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series is used here. We have to fit into the time limit, and our job is to perform minor tasks. It may be necessary to perform a certain trick, or to score the required amount of points. In total, there are over 70 different tricks to perform in the game, some of which cannot be used in the initial phase of the game. We can unlock new equipment and clothes as we make progress. There are also mini-games, which are once again connected with the MGS series. Also new are the rather unique boss fights. It may be a tank or even a huge spider. For obvious purposes, these are only minor additions. Visually, the game looks pretty good. Evolution Skateboarding also offers fun for two players.
