The story is set in California, in the year 1986, where a bunch of kids playing in the forest discover a mysterious artifact which allows them to bend the laws of physics and travel across the border between life and death. The unsuspecting characters are thrown into the midst of a government conspiracy led by a ruthless general who wishes to acquire the artifact for his evil purposes.
