Congo is an action game focused on cooperation mode. It is the first game for personal computers developed by The Innocent Devils studio. The developers previously worked on games for mobile devices.
The game takes place deep in the Congo jungle. A small group of people must face demons that are hunting them. The beasts like to hide in darkness. This makes light the best ally of players – attacks of the monsters can be repelled with flares, flashlights and torches. It is also possible to gather fuel for the electric generators and use them to power up large lamps and thus temporarily create safe zones.
Of course, the players aren’t forced to only defend themselves. There are many weapons available in the game and players can also help themselves by setting various traps. At the same time, as in any good survival horror, the players are always lacking ammunition and other useful items. Trips for new supplies and effective management of gathered equipment is the key part of the game. The title was designed in such way that it forces cooperation between users. The artificial intelligence that controls the monsters is very effective and it can mercilessly use every mistake of the players.
Action in Congo is shown from a top-down perspective. The game has nice graphics generated by Unreal Engine 4. This engine allowed the developers to create detailed locations and use dynamic lighting that increases the atmosphere of the production.
