Helicopter: Natural Disasters

An unusual rescue helicopter simulator developed by PlayWay. We are left without any form of storyline or a plot, instead taking part in a number of unconnected rescue operations. The game takes place on an expansive world spanning 100 km2 that contains various settlements, locations, and other elements which are a background to thirty varied assignments that see us fight against numerous natural disasters including great fires or earthquakes. The player is given five helicopters that are characterized by their specialization and different behavior in flight, as well as a few land vehicles and speedboats that received their separate segments. Helicopter: Natural Disasters is governed by a realistic physics engine that offers realistic flight, as well as controls a number of smaller factors such as the weight of the transported cargo or changing weather conditions.

Helicopter: Natural Disasters for PC / Windows is an unusual simulation that gives the players control over a rescue helicopter. The game was developed by PlayWay, a studio known from similar titles, including Professional Farmer 2017, Professional Lumberjack 2015, or FarmFix Simulator 2015.

The game lacks any storyline or even a rudimentary plot, offering us the ability to take control of rescue helicopters that take part in numerous rescue missions. In all, we are left with 30 different assignments that consist of various less-complicated tasks. As an observant person might infer by the title, the players will be facing natural disasters, including great fires or earthquakes.

The background is a large world spanning over 100 square kilometers; the individual missions see us travel to different areas found on its surface. A realistic physics engine powers the game. It governs the behavior of our machine, as well as the weight of transported victims, objects, or changing weather conditions.

As a rescue pilot, the player is left with five helicopters that fill different needs and have unique functionalities. Aside from the above, we are treated to different sequences, in which we take control over land vehicles and speedboats. Finally, the game also contains a random mode that changes the parameters of the already completed missions, offering new challenges and a different course of the action.

Technical Aspects

Helicopter: Natural Disasters for PC / Windows offers mediocre, three-dimensional visuals. The graphics may not be rich in detail, but the sheer size of the world is definitely a highlight of the game, even more so since it is filled with numerous land objects. The game supports control schemes for gamepads as well as a keyboard and mouse.
