Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version on the PS Vita console is a classic music and rhythm game where players use virtual taiko drums. The production is the fourth installment of the series, which came to Sony's portable consoles (the previous ones were available on PSP). Bandai Namco is responsible for creating the game. The Taiko no Tatsujin series began its life in 2001 in Japanese arcade salons, where it gained great popularity and a multitude of fans. Since then, it has been available in several new versions, including ports on PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii, Wii U, Nintendo DS and 3DS consoles. Interestingly, some of them used unique drum-shaped controllers. The series had only one official release in the West, in 2004 it was released on PlayStation 2 under the changed title Taiko Drum Master.

Playing Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version is extremely simple and, like other games of the genre, relies on the hearing of players, their reaction speed and knowledge of individual tracks. Our task is to accurately beat the rhythm on taiko drums. This is done with a few buttons. During the game, has a color screen on a straight line move from right to left red and blue symbols of the drum, indicating where we are to hit the instrument (red - center, blue - edges). The title offers several levels of difficulty, changing the frequency of symbols and introducing additional challenges.

In addition to the standard play modes known from the previous episodes of the cycle, Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version also has an adventure campaign so called Donda Quest. We play the role of one of the following mascot of the game - don-san, who is transferred to the world of fantasy. She meets a girl named Maple and tries to defeat an ancient dragon named Revolution with her. Between feature interludes, players take part in battles with creatures using the standard title model, as well as gaining equipment and items for their characters.

Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version has an extensive library of more than 80 licensed Japanese music and songs from multiple sources (games, anime, series and drama, etc.). There were also hits of pop artists, such as AKB48.
