AND

Sword & Glory is a historic RPG game released on AND and iOS. The game is available in a free-to-play model with microtransactions and was developed by Ifelse Media.

Plot

The action of Sword & Glory takes place in the early Middle Ages, allowing us to play the life of a single warrior trying to survive in the Scandinavian part of Europe. The authors focused on historical realism and we will not find any fantastic elements here. Sword & Glory also doesn't offer an extensive plot. The whole story is shaped solely by the player's decisions and reactions of other characters.

Mechanics

We start Sword & Glory with creating our hero - we choose elements such as starting skills, clan, religion or lack of it, and then we decide for ourselves how to lead his life until his death. During the game, players can take part in more than two hundred story adventures, explore the world, fight enemies, accumulate treasures, go on expeditions and develop statistics and talents.

Of course, we spend a lot of time fighting opponents. The combat system is very skillful and the player decides mainly about when to attack and when to protect with a shield. Contrary to appearances, however, duels are very difficult and require a good sense of the rhythm of the enemy's movements. The fact that every death in Sword & Glory is permanent and forces us to restart from scratch adds to the excitement.

The game always starts in the same village, but the other aspects like character creation and decisions shape further adventures in such a way that no two playthroughs are the same. In addition, we can help future incarnations, leaving behind equipment and village improvements, which makes it easier to start with a new character and makes us gradually more powerful and rich.
