Dragon Front PC

Dragon Front is a collectible card game that combines traditional fantasy themes with diesel punk aesthetics. The game is available on PC with Oculus Rift virtual reality set. The game was developed by High Voltage Software who cooperated with Oculus company. High Voltage Software previously worked on PC and console ports of such games like Mortal Kombat X, Mortal Kombat, Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected and Plants vs. Zombies 2.

Mechanics

Dragon Front contains no expanded story plot. The gameplay concentrates on participating in duels. Battles take place on a 4x4 board. The rules are inspired by the Dejarik game known from the fourth episode of Star Wars. Players can choose from four unique factions with different attributes, mechanics and battle strategies. There are more than one hundred offensive and defensive spells and almost 300 different characters among which there are various battle creatures and powerful heroes summoning whom might change the outcome of many battles.

Game modes

Dragon Front focuses on battles with real players through network. Matchmaking is done based on the current player’s experience level and the game contains various online rankings.

Technical aspects

Dragon Front released on PC with Oculus Rift is one of the first collectible card games developed for virtual reality sets. It stands out thanks to high immersion level that allows becoming part of the game world in a way inaccessible for traditional games of this genre. The action is shown from a first-person perspective and the player can look around in every direction during the duel. Cards are worth mentioning as they are not a flat cardboards but fully three-dimensional boxes with characters locked inside.
