Paper Mario: Color Splash for WiiU is the next installment in a series of role-playing games released by Nintendo - a company popular for such acclaimed franchises as Star Fox, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario or Pokemon.

Plot

Paper Mario: Color Splash is set on the Prism island. A land that was once beautiful and filled with color gets ruined - for unknown reasons, it has become losing its colors. The titular paper Mario has no choice but to solve the mystery and restore the island to its former beauty.

Mechanics

Paper Mario: Color Splash for WiiU is a role-playing game requiring the player to explore subsequent locations and complete different assignments. This time, Mario is equipped with a special hammer which allows him to color empty spaces. In doing so, the player earns golden coins, revives different characters and releases inhabitants of the island from imprisonment. The player is engaged in coloring even in combat, though instead of coloring parts of the game world, one is required to color special cards referring to different kinds of attacks.

Technical aspects

Paper Mario: Color Splash for WiiU is unique when it comes to the visuals, because the game combines three-dimensional environments with flat, "paper" character models. In terms of the art style, Paper Mario: Color Splash is a very colorful game as the very title suggests, resembling other games featuring the famous Mario in this aspect.
