AND WP PC

Star Wars: Commander is a strategy game released (among other platforms) on PC and Android. The game is another clone of the popular Clash of Clans - this time, however, set in the iconic . Star Wars universe. The game was created by Disney Mobile studio - a part of Disney who purchased Lucasfilm in 2012 along with all the brands it owns, including George Lucas' famous saga. This production appeared on the most popular mobile devices, as well as computers and tablets with Windows 8/10.

Story

The plot of Star Wars: Commander is set in the classic Star Wars trilogy. The game, however, does not contain an extensive storyline, focusing mainly on the battles between the light and dark sides of the Force. During the game, players can side with the Rebels, commanded by Han Solo, or the Empire, led by Lord Vader himself. However, this choice is purely aesthetic as both parties to the conflict are well balanced and have no significant advantages over their competitors.

Mechanics

In terms of mechanics, the title does not differ significantly from most mobile strategy games and focuses on the same mechanisms as the aforementioned Clash of Clans. While playing, players expand their base, conduct research on new technologies, as well as train soldiers and send them to battle. The fictional campaign consists of nine chapters, divided into a number of smaller missions, where the main objectives are to build or improve a specific structure, defend it against enemy attack or to carry out an attack. Unfortunately, as in most similar productions, during combat we have no influence on the actions of our units, and battles take place automatically.

The speed of development in the game depends mostly on the available resources, which in Star Wars: Commander come in two types - both of which are gained for performing subsequent storyline tasks. With the so-called credits, one can buy more units and improve military buildings. Metal is used to build new constructions and to raise the level of existing ones. As befits a free-to-play game, most activities can be speeded up using the premium currency, i.e. special crystals purchased with real cash.

Game modes

Star Wars: Commander offers a genre-typical fun model that combines single player gameplay with multiplayer mode. During the game, one can focus on the fictional campaign and completing consecutive tasks, without forgetting that at any time, the base can become the target of attack of another player (which of course works the other way). However, the Disney Mobile studio's production offers an option, thanks to which players can buy temporary protection against attacks for an appropriate amount of premium currency, which provides them with security and comfort of development.

Technical issues

Star Wars: Commander for PC and Android shows the action in classic isometric view and does not stand out in terms of visuals when compared to most mobile strategy games. It is worth noting, however, that the creators put a lot of emphasis on a detailed representation of the units appearing in the game. Buildings have been modelled with the same great care, and every improvement is almost always illustrated by a visible change in their appearance.
