SuperHyperCube PS4

SuperHyperCube, released on PS4, is a minimalistic arcade and logic game created by Kokoromi, which included Phil Fish, the author of the highly acclaimed platformer called Fez released in 2012. The early version of SuperHyperCube was created in 2008 and was built with 3D glasses in mind. The game has been shown many times at many different industry events for indie producers. Eventually, after years of experimentation, the creators decided to adapt their work to cooperate with virtual reality goggles. The developers were inspired by classic science fiction films from the 80's, such as Tron and Blade Runner, and the most popular arcade hits.

Mechanics

SuperHyperCube is based on an extremely simple idea. Players must manipulate a three-dimensional geometric figure build from cubes of the same size so that it can fit into the holes in the fast-approaching walls. We start the game with a single cube and get new elements every time we successfully squeeze it through another hole. The constantly growing figure can be rotated 360 degrees. The game ends when we can't match the shapes. The bigger the figure, the better our final score will be. The action is observed from the first person perspective.

Technical aspects

Various filters and graphics effects add variety to the gameplay. The audiovisual setting is minimalistic. The creators have prepared an intensive electronic soundtrack, which additionally increases the tension accompanying the game.
