Rayman Legends Definitive Edition is the final version of the 2013’s original. The game has been developed for Switch by Ubisoft Montpelier under the leadership of Michel Ancel.
Rayman Legends Definitive Edition takes players on a journey to a fantastical world inhabited i.a. by Rayman, Globox and their Teensy companions, whom players first get to meet on their journey through the enchanted forest. The characters encounter a tent filled with various paintings depicting both historical and mythical lands. While examining a painting presenting a scene from the Middle Ages, our protagonists get sucked right inside the painting. This is how Rayman and his amicable companions begin a long and dangerous adventure through the unknown lands, taking the entire world’s fate on their shoulders.
Rayman Legends Definitive Edition is a 2D platform game with its action presented from a side perspective. The gameplay’s core lies in the exploration, traveling from one platform onto another, avoiding the omnipresent traps and acquiring new skills, which allow players to reach seemingly inaccessible areas, and handle different threats and enemies lurking literally everywhere. The locations players get to visit are diverse – this mixture of legendary lands includes Ancient Greece and Medieval castles. Apart from traveling afoot, the game also delivers levels where our protagonist has to dive or fly on the back of a giant mosquito. When compared to its original version released 4 years before, Raman Legends Definitive Edition introduces new additional content available only on Switch.
In Rayman Legends Definitive Edition, one can choose to play alone or in a cooperative mode with other players. The co-op based multiplayer allows up to 4 players to enjoy the game at the same time.
In terms of the execution, Rayman Legends Definitive Edition does not fall behind its 2013’s original release – players get at their disposal an incredibly colorful game, characterized by high-quality 2D visuals with a cartoonish style. Moreover, the game utilizes the full potential of Switch.
