Holdfast: Nations at War PC

Holdfast: Nations at War for PC is historical action game, in which you participate in epic multiplayer battles. It is the first production by Anvil Games, whose members worked on Mount & Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars.

Mechanics

Holdfast: Nations at War is an action game set during the Napoleonic Wars, recreating land and naval battles. Regardless whether the battle takes place on land or at sea, the key aspect of the game is the cooperation between teammates. Both types of battle feature soldiers of various classes with distinct abilities and roles. The naval battles involve large sailing ships, on which your have various responsibilities. The land battles can take place in open areas or, alternatively, they can be sieges. Some maps combine both battle types. The scale of the battles is quite large, which only fits the sizes of the locations.

The combat system is very realistic. It takes time to reload your weapon, which means that you have to fight your enemies in a more direct way. The game's authors implemented relatively simple fencing mechanics, which nevertheless give you much freedom and prove to be a challenge for your reflexes and aiming skills. The game allows you to play either in FPP or TPP.

Technical aspects

The production features various multiplayer modes and no singleplayer mode. There are also many social options, which help you find other people to play with.
