Sabotage is the title of the first official DLC pack for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, a first-person shooter released in early November, 2016 for PC, PS4 and XONE and created by Infinity Ward. The add-on is included in the game’s season pass, but it can also be purchased separately. Because of the deal between Activision Blizzard and Sony, this DLC was made available first to PlayStation 4 owners, with other platforms having followed a little bit later.

Mechanics

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Sabotage offers a traditional range of attractions that fans of the game series from Activision Blizzard got used to. The first one is four new maps for multiplayer gameplay. Noir takes us into dirty streets of a dystopian city inspired by night-time Brooklyn, turned into an actual warzone. Neon is a virtual training center and a unique battle arena, where cars and other objects tend to suddenly appear out of nowhere and defeated enemies explode into hundreds of pieces. Renaissance throws players into narrow streets of the famous city of Venice, whose unique architecture favors stealth action as well as requires moving through the network of canals. The last map, Dominion, is a remastered version of the classic arena Afghan from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Although this time we play on the surface of Mars, the location retained all its characteristic elements, with just a couple of adjustments made to suit the new movement system.

The second element of the Sabotage DLC is a brand new chapter of the zombie co-op mini-campaign, in which a mysterious film director, named Willard Wyler, has trapped the heroes inside the setting of his horror movie. In the episode entitled Rave in the Redwoods we visit a location inspired by 1990s’ horrors – an abandoned camp in the woods turned into a techno party ground. Here, the original heroes appear in new variants and they are also aided by Kevin Smith (starring himself), the maker of movies like the magnificent Clerks, as well as Cop Out, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. On top of that come two new enemies: Slasher and Sasquatch as well as new weapons, traps, cosmetic items, and Fortune Cards.

Technical aspects

Released on PC, PS4 and XONE, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Sabotage offers no significant improvements compared to the original game – neither in terms of game modes nor technical aspects.
