Ooblets

Ooblets is a charming RPG that combines farming mechanics modeled on Stardew Valley with a collecting and development system taken from the Pokemon series, and to all of this adds elements from Animal Crossing: New Horizons and some new ideas. It was developed by Glumberland studio.

Game mechanics

We begin the adventure in a traditional way - we arrive in the land of Oob without a penny to our soul, then, courtesy of the local mayor, we become the owners of a small, crumbling farm; in return, we undertake to help her solve the problems of the town of Badgetown. Our task is not only to grow plants, which we then sell to obtain the cash needed to buy clothes, furniture and other beautifications. At the same time, it is also necessary to plant seeds from which will grow creatures, the title ooblets. For with their help we can fight .... dancing duels with other creatures or growers similar to us.

The skirmish system is quite extensive. During turn-based battles, we command teams of creatures with different move sets, and what dance moves we have at our disposal in a given turn is determined by cards drawn from a sizable deck. Importantly, such "skirmishes" are completely devoid of violence - our goal is simply to score a certain number of points faster than our opponent. The reward for victory is new seeds for growing ooblets and experience points for our charges.

Importantly, most activities such as watering plants or collecting interesting things while exploring the world require energy - its resources are renewed thanks to food, which we can buy or cook ourselves from our own crops thanks to numerous recipes.

In the game we can also visit a town full of friendly characters and take part in the life of its inhabitants - help them and even make friends. There is also an option to expand our own house and open a store. In addition, the world is vast, full of interesting finds and mini-games, as well as daily activities with rewards.

Technical aspects

Ooblets strong point is the graphics quality. The authors opted for three-dimensional graphics, which, however, were made in a cartoon style full of colors and bright planes.
