Great Ace Attorney 2 3DS

Great Ace Attorney 2 is a lawyer simulator/adventure game and a part of a popular series from Capcom. The title is a direct sequel to The Great Ace Attorney, known in Japan as Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodo Ryunosuke no Boken.

Plot

The game is a spin-off and a prequel to The Great Ace Attorney. Similarly to the previous game of the series, we assume control of a young Japanese lawyer named Ryunosuke Naruhodo, who is an ancestor of Phoenix Wright (Ryuichi Naruhodo in the Japanese version).

Our goal is to defend several innocent people who were unjustly accused of various crimes. Some of the cases take place in Japan, while other ones in London. During his adventures, Ryunosuke is supported by Sherlock Holmes, the most famous detective in the world.

Mechanics

Great Ace Attorney 2 is a classic installment of the Ace Attorney series. As a result, we are dealing with a fully-fledged adventure game in which we explore locations, conduct conversations, and solve various puzzles. Each case is divided into two segments – the player conducts his own investigation, gathering evidence, which is then used during the trial to refute statements that may hurt our client.

Similarly to the first Great Ace Attorney, the key role is played by the jury, which votes on the verdict. To win, we need to convince most of its members of our client’s innocence. Before the verdict is released, we receive the ability to talk to each member of the jury with a mission to change their standing.

Sherlock Holmes also plays a role during our investigations. The world’s famous detective helps us during the investigations, but his statements are not always right and we need to investigate them to check whether they are real.
