WRC 7

Another installment in a series of rally games developed by Kylotonn Racing Games. The game has the license of FIA World Rally Championship, so during the campaign, the player takes part in 13 authentic rally competitions - those give the same number of locations and 63 special stages. Apart from that, representations of real drivers were included, next to the sponsors' commercials. In terms of the driving physics, WRC 7 develops the concepts from the predecessing game. Above all, the creators introduced changes into the physics, due to the improvements brought to this year's cars. Furthermore, the developer removed smaller issues, such as too short braking distances. All of this made the experience slightly more challenging than before, as well as more realistic. The game offers both singleplayer and multiplayer modes, also a local split-screen variant.

WRC 7 for PlayStation 4 is a rally game developed by Kylotonn Racing Games. The creators had produced the two previous installments of the series as well - WRC 5 and WRC 6. Furthermore, the team is popular for a series of other games, such as FlatOut 4: Total Insanity (2017). The game has the license of FIA World Rally Championship, and it was published by Bigben Interactive.

Mechanics

Similar to the previous installments, WRC 7 is a rallying simulator, though the less-experienced players can find something to their liking in the game as well. The driving physics are demanding. The more powerful vehicles are quite difficult to harness, and as for the tracks - they are filled with tight turns, hills, bumps and of course, environmental objects one's car crashes into while driving without caution. Moreover, the physics engine was modified in this installment after the improvements introduced in this year's cars. A few smaller, though important changes were introduced as well, such as lengthening the braking distances, as they were too short in the previous installment.

Thanks to the game using the license of FIA World Rally Championship, one can take part in thirteen authentic rally competitions, which ultimately gives the player the same number of locations and 63 special stages. Most of those faithfully represent their real-life equivalents, so one can be required to perform well during a stage that reaches up to 25 kilometers in length - this means about 17 minutes of driving with precision.

Game modes

Obviously, the campaign (the player competes for victory in World Rally Championship) is the basic mode in WRC 7. Apart from that, the player can participate in online competitions and weekly challenges, or engage in e-sport. The split-screen mode constitutes an additional feature.

Technical aspects

In terms of the visuals, WRC 7 for PlayStation 4 is very similar to the predecessing game. Thanks to the FIA license, the player observes authentic and faithfully recreated cars, but also real drivers and sponsors' commercials. Particular tracks present the player with different environments. One time the player drives through muddy forests, sometime else they go extremely fast on asphalt roads. The experience is additionally diversified with various weather conditions - one races in heavy rains or blizzards for example.
