XONE

Race Online is a racing game created by an indie developer, Iceflake Studios, and is available on PC Windows. The game takes inspirations from the classics of the genre, including the cult-classic Micro Machines.

Mechanics

In Race Online players participate in crazy races that take place on various tracks and the action is presented from top-down perspective. We can choose from six vehicles (rally car, motorbike, tractor, sports car, F1 car and UFO) and their colors are fully customizable. They all have both strong and weak points and properly utilizing the former is the key to success. We can use those vehicles and race on more than one hundred tracks located in desserts, beautiful archipelago that consists of a few islands, in cities, forests or lands covered in ice. However, these are not the only available tracks because we can create our own levels thanks to simple editor – we can also share our creations with the community via Steam Workshop.

Game modes

Race Online, available of PC Windows, offers both single and multiplayer modes. There are three singleplayer modes – in career mode we participate in series of races dedicated to each of the cars; besides this mode we can also race in time trials and single tournaments. In addition to that, the game also has a multiplayer mode – up to six players can participate in local races and ten in online.

Technical aspects

Race Online uses 2D graphics made in colorful and cartoony style. The game's soundtrack can get players excited and motivates them to win.

Misc.

This game is also available on Xbox One and is called Race Arcade. This version doesn't have the track editor and online multiplayer option.
