Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team is a mobile game based on the popular manga and anime series called Captain Tsubasa. The game was developed by the Japanese KLab and is now available on AND and iOS for free.
Plot
The game is based on the popular manga and anime, thus the developers made sure that players can relive all the most iconic moments in the careers of Tsubasa and his friends. The story campaign revolves around the young Japanese soccer player who wants to become the best player in the world.
Mechanics
Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team for AND and iOS was developed for the touch screens, so the game is not overly complicated. During the matches, players can observe the playing field and character icons moving all around it. Players move on their own, but you can pass or shoot the ball with a tap of your finger. You can also point the direction in which a player on the fields has to go. After approaching an opponent, the perspective changes and the camera moves behind player's back. At this point, you can perform additional actions (shoot, pass, dribble, and use a special ability) by choosing them from the menu. Each action consumes energy. The result of the match depends on different aspects, including character level and the level of utilized abilities. After selecting an action, players get to watch a short animated sequence. Interestingly enough, there are several controls options available in the game. For example, you can fully control a match by controlling particular players or leave it for the AI to do it for you.
Game modes
Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team offers a single player campaign, nonetheless, the game has a stronger focus on the multiplayer experience. Players can compete against each other using the teams they created that comprise all their favorite players.
Technical aspects
The AND and iOS release of Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team features manga-style visuals inspired by the anime series. During the game, players get to see all the famous shots, and the characters speak with their original voices, making the overall atmosphere very similar to the original series.
