Story

A mysterious mineral is brought to Earth. Due to its influence, ten people from different parts of the world gain supernatural powers. Each of them becomes a dangerous warrior with a set of unique skills. A bloody struggle begins to seize power on the planet.

Mechanics

War Gods is an arcade 3D fighting game in which the players can use ten fighters with different fighting styles and movestes. Among them are figures inspired by various legends, ancient civilizations, and local beliefs. Each of the available warriors has different attacks and special skills, as well as a unique finishing blow, fatality, which they can use to massacre the opponent.

Combat mechanics use a proven formula. The players have low and high punches and kicks, as well as the ability to block. A unique element of the game is the ability to switch between two perspectives during a duel. By pressing one of the buttons, the warrior can at any time be closer to the screen or more in the background of the arena. This not only opens up additional tactical possibilities but is also used to execute some of the stronger combos. Midway's game offers fun not only to single players, but in 1-on-1 multiplayer battles on a shared screen.

Technical aspects

War Gods is a three-dimensional fighting game, in which the devs have applied their own technique of transferring photographs to 3D models of fighters. Actors that recorded all the sequences during the motion capture session were used to map the character's movements. Some of them had previously played a similar role in the development of Mortal Kombat.
