Worms

Worms is a turn-based strategic game, which I don't think you have to introduce to anyone. It includes control over a group of worms who want to eliminate the opposing team at all costs. The first part of the cycle debuted in 1994, but it is only in this case that for the first time we are dealing with a browser production dedicated to users of the social network Facebook. The game is based on the business model of free to play, so the free fun is diversified by the system of optional micropayments. The title was created by Team 17 studio, which started this series.

The most important rules of fun have hardly changed since the release of the original. Once again, we command a team of title worms and hit the small, two-dimensional arena, where our task is to eliminate all enemies on the map. The game has been divided into rounds, which introduces an additional strategic element. Each player has a certain amount of time to move around with a given worm and make an attack. All manoeuvres are only limited by the seconds that have elapsed. There is no such thing as a certain number of movement points. Equally well within the time limit you can go from one end of the map to the other.

Every worm taking part in the battle is described by an exact value describing its life points. As you take further damage, this indicator drops until it goes down to zero. Then such a team member dies and only his teammates remain in the arena. The winner is the team that first eliminates all enemies, while keeping at least one worm in its ranks. A fancy weapon arsenal is used to exterminate enemies. It includes, among others, bazooka, dynamite, various types of grenades, mortar, baseball stick, or even banana bombs sowing real destruction.

The creators decided to return to classic solutions and opted for a colorful, two-dimensional graphic design. This is the form in which the Worms series enjoyed the greatest triumphs, because the gameplay is so accessible that almost everyone can take part in it, and at the same time a number of tactical options makes it also suitable for those experienced in the battles of the cathedral. In the case of the Facebook version, Team 17 used a slightly simplified interface, which, however, does not reduce the joy of fun. The rules of the game were made clear to everyone, and the clear appearance of the available options helps in this. We are dealing with a browser game, so all social options are very important.
