RTL Winter Sports 2008

RTL Winter Sports 2008 is a title created primarily for winter sports fans. The team at 49Games is responsible for the development of the game, and the devs have a lot of experience in making this type of productions. The company has created the previous part of the series, i.e. RTL Winter Games 2007, as well as selected installments of RTL Ski Jumping.

The list of competitions in RTL Winter Sports 2008 includes, among others, Nordic combination, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, special slalom, ski jumping, snowboarding and ice skating. For each of the discipline, we the devs jave assigned specific game mode. In most cases we can also modify the rules of the game, for example by specifying the number of participants. We enter the tournaments alone or together with other people. In the latter case, depending on the type of chosen discipline, the competition is conducted in parallel (e.g. biathlon), or alternately (e.g. ski jumping).

During the game we can play as a representative of one of ten different countries, including the United States, Russia, Great Britain, Sweden, Norway, Great Britain, or China. In addition, the developers prepared an editor, thanks to which we create individual players or whole teams, so that they can be set to competitions of our choice.

Visuals RTL Winter Sports 2008 present a similar level to the previous version of this series. The participants of the competition were modelled in a most detailed way. In the sound layer we have, first of all, a professional commentary by Sue Thurle and Tim Caple. In addition, the game is accompanied by music motivating us to fight for the highest steps of the podium.
