A fantasy isometric role-playing game with hack-and-slash elements, developed by Westwood Studios, the creators of such titles as Eye of the Beholder, Lands of Lore or Command & Conquer. The game take place on the planet Nox, once the arena of the great war between men and necromancers. Many years thereafter, a surviving necromancer named Hecubah decides to take revenge on men, using a magic wand filled with the souls of their allies. The unaware owner of the wand is an ordinary Earthling Jack Mower, who finds himself transported to the land of Nox via TV screen and takes part in a series of unusual events. The gameplay focuses mostly on exploration and combat, and depending on your chosen character class you can fight hand-to-hand, use ranged magical attacks or summon powerful creatures, who'll do the fighting for you. An interesting element of the gameplay is the option of setting sophisticated traps your enemies can then walk into.

Defeat Hecubah, the queen of the undead, and bring order to the world of Nox. The player can choose one of three character classes. Should you choose a warrior, your advantages shall be your strength and speed. As a mage, you will be able to use magic spells, which let you send your enemies into oblivion without having to fight them face to face. If you become a Conjurer, you get to summon powerful beasts to do the dirty work for you.

Nox allows you to create your own traps and puzzles, both in single and multiplayer mode. In this world, imagination and cunning are absolutely essential. You may send your enemy to a room full of poisonous spiders or a lava pit. In the game, you will find 50 different spells, weapons and special abilities. You may summon a bloodthirsty wolf to chase a bleeding enemy, force the forces of nature to destroy a chamber full of demons, or melt an opponent down with the Staff of Oblivion. You can summon a maximum of 8 minions that will obey your orders. By moving rocks, you can block passages, you can also put a fire out by destroying a barrel with water, and if you blow up a powder cask, you will see that its fragments turn into deadly shrapnels.

An innovative system of field of view creation, True Vision, builds an atmosphere of uncertainty and thrill. In multiplayer, you may also play via Westwood Online servers. Fighting alongside your friends, try to take the enemy’s banner or engage in battles to the death.
