PRIDE pits the top fighters in the world from several different combative sports including wrestling, karate, judo, kick-boxing, and others into one ring under the same rules. The philosophy of Pride, known as ValeTudo, is the acceptance of any technique of any school of combat. Fueled by the fervent dreams of Antonio Inoki and the late Ikki Kajiwara, PRIDE is survival of the strongest. PRIDE debuted in Japan in 1997 and featured many top fighters from around the world. Today, the organization of PRIDE has become one of Japan's most loved sports. Long hosted by DirecTV and DISH Networks, PRIDE recently penetrated the cable PPV market, partnering with broadcast conglomerate TVN to air tape-delayed shows on the Action Channel, which airs on Cablevision and other U.S. cable systems. Beginning in February 2002, PRIDE will feature primetime Pay-Per-View Pride FC™ broadcasts live from Japan.

Pride FC™ is the most realistic No Holds Barred fighting videogame for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. Fighters are accurately recreated in amazing detail with appearance, fighting style, movements and signature ring entrances. Various combat elements capture the intensity and authenticity of a Pride contest including multiple fighting positions, unique fighting styles, hundreds of moves, counters and reversals. With a TV-style presentation, each match-up comes to life in fully scaled arenas complete with ring announcers, lighting, pyrotechnics and realistic camera angles.
