MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries PC

Mercenaries is a standalone addition to Mechwarrior 2: 31st Century Combat. We play the role of a mercenary team member, who earns a living by executing orders with his mechem - a multi-tone machine moving on two legs, equipped with a number of deadly weapons and systems facilitating combat. There are economic aspects of the game (and this is where the great emphasis is placed) and the need to get acquainted with the parameters of the machines, such as: speed, thickness of the armour or weight. It is also important to select the weaponry in terms of its properties - penetration capacity, risk of overheating and, of course, price. In addition, you can buy special upgrades to the machine, for example, motors that allow you to fly into the air.

The game takes place in very diverse locations, ranging from cities, through mountainous areas, to flat deserts. Tasks waiting for the player usually boil down to the destruction of a selected object (helicopter, truck, building floor, etc.), however, they are still very cleverly executed. In addition, the nature of the game forces quick decisions regarding the movement of a group of mosses and the order in which targets and enemies are attacked.

The complexity and realism of the title make gameplay very difficult, which may deter some players, especially younger ones. It takes a few hours to get acquainted with the functions of the program, however, once you have gone through it, Mechwarrior reveals its true face - a well-executed game, capable of attracting to the monitor for long weeks (unless you pay attention to a bit of leftover graphics and sound).

Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries also offers Internet and LAN gaming via MercNet - up to eight players.
