Max Payne: Anthology is a complete set of products, treating the fate of Max Payne, a talented detective of the New York Police Department. This package includes both the first and second part of the famous series of Finnish band Remedy Studios.

Max Payne is an action game created in cooperation with 3D Realms. We play the role of an agent, prosecuted by the special services after being accused of killing his own boss. Wishing to avenge his murdered family, our protégé engages in the midst of the criminal world of New York and faces ruthless murderers, drug addicts, bad cops, corrupt politicians and other characters emerging from the darkness of terrifying realism, a three-dimensional scenery. The incredibly extensive plot gradually discovers new secrets as Max enters the darkest areas of the criminal underground, where he has to clear himself of the charges against him and discover and expose the dark network of betrayal and conspiracy.

Max Payne was designed to create a new quality in the action games market, presented from a third party perspective. Thanks to the revolutionary system of fighting, the climate resembles a film. It shows the inspirations of the authors, drawn directly from black detective stories from the 1950s, novels belonging to the genre of desktop fiction and contemporary cinema hits (Matrix), produced in Hollywood studios. More information about the game can be found here.

Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne is a sequel to the 2001 action game about the dramatic struggle of the cop, the title character Max Payne, with the criminal organisation responsible for distributing the new dangerous drug Valkyra. The action of this part takes place one year after the events in which we participated in the first edition and takes us back to New York. Max returned to the police and for a short period of time he thought that everything was back to normal. Unfortunately, to his life returned the past, i.e. the criminal lying in wait for the life of our hero and Mona, a mysterious woman, in which Max located his love feelings.

The whole plot was constructed in a way reminiscent of the construction of criminal films from the 1940s (the so-called "noir convention"), where we have one "good" protagonist, a woman (femme fatale), a love story and a detective story full of surprises and twists of action. Generally speaking, the scenario of Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne is three times bigger than before, but the game itself has a similar length as the first installment. The story is deeper and more concise. While in the "one" the plot and the fight were separate parts, i.e. the player could avoid film interludes and still reach the final of the whole game, in the "two" everything was merged together. Regardless of any conceptual changes, we are still dealing with a title intended only for adults, in which terrible scenes of violence, murder, etc. have not been abandoned. More information about the game can be found here.
