The fourth installment of The Elder Scrolls series was so popular that Bethesda Softworks decided to release the game on the PlayStation Portable handheld console. The task of creating portable version was given to Climax studio. This edition is very different from the one released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The first noticeable difference is in the title of the game – it is called The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion.

The most important difference in comparison to other versions of Oblivion is the fact that the game takes place in a different setting and the gameplay mechanics are based on dungeon crawler games. The developers resigned on using open spaces and giant locations because PSP would probably be too weak to generate advanced graphics. Instead of that, they focused on closed rooms and uncountable numbers of dungeons, catacombs and sewers.

During the game player will travel through ten large levels on which he will encounter both NPCs who give him some quests and various beasts. The developers created eighteen interesting skills which very frequently will save the skin of the protagonist. Additionally, as in other cRPG games, the protagonist has specific statistics which can be developed as one progress through the game. In addition to that, the developers created a special control system for The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion thanks to which moving through the virtual world became very intuitive.
