Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light is a typical representative of the RPG genre created by Matrix Software, which previously undertook to release the third and fourth part of the series on the Nintendo DS console in a refreshed form. This production is a completely new game, not based on any of its predecessors.

The plot is simple and classic for the first productions of this genre. In this way, the creators wanted to refer to the beginnings of the brand. The main character is a fourteen-year-old boy Brandt, who is to present himself in the castle to the king as a person just reaching adulthood. On the spot, however, it turns out that the ruler's youngest daughter was abducted by the Witch from the North, and the main character is given the task of saving the princess. During his adventure he is joined by three companions who want to help him achieve his goal.

The game at every step resembles a classic genre - we have four heroes fighting evil, the main motif of kidnapping the princess and a low-complicated turn-based combat system. We can also control battles using a style, choosing from physical attacks, magic, or the use of specific items. There is also a division into character classes, which can be changed at any time by choosing one of more than twenty professions, such as a white and black magician or a warrior.

The title is graphically similar to the remake of the third or fourth installment of Final Fantasy on Nintendo DS. We observe the action in isometric projection, and the eyes enjoy colorful, three-dimensional graphics with a characteristic design of characters with large heads.

If you get bored of defeating monsters and discovering history alone, you can use multiplayer mode, where up to four players can take on the next locations full of enemies. In this way you can collect special points, which should be later exchanged for rare items to be used in the adventure for a single player.
