It takes us once again to the land of Azeroth known from previous games, where forces of humans, orcs, and night elves face invasion of undead known as Plague. Gameplay features mechanics typical of the series, but there are still some novelties. The most important is the introduction of heroes for every race, who gain experience and new special abilities that help us during battles. Additionally, third entry in the series features a cutscene-driven narrative. Warcraft III also has complex multiplayer, offering several modes through Battle.net network. Strategy 14 March 1995

The sequel to the renowned RTS from 1994, developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness once again throws the players into the war-torn world of Azeroth. Although it has been over six years since the memorable defeat of the orcs, the invaders have not given up on their plans and now, with vengeance being their primary ambition, they have reached the borders of the human kingdoms by utilizing a giant armada of heavily armed ships. When it comes to the gameplay mechanics, the production is extremely similar to its predecessor; the player chooses one of the sides of the conflict and tries to defeat their foes by building up his base and creating a strong military. The gameplay for each of the races is remarkably similar, with distinct types of spells and spell-casters being the main difference between the factions. In contrast to the predecessor, in Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness the developers have strayed away from scenarios played out in dungeons, and have prepared numerous varied environments and terrain types.

WarCraft: Orcs and Humans

Strategy 11 March 1994

WarCraft: Orcs and Humans is an RTS set in a fantasy universe, and the debut game from Blizzard Entertainment (an American studio, previously going by the name Silicon & Synapse). The events of WarCraft: Orcs and Humans take place in a fantasy land of Azeroth, where the conflict between humans and orcs takes place. The players choose their side and attempt to conquer the other. Mechanics-wise, the game is somewhat reminiscent of Dune II by Westwood Studios, although here, the gameplay was supplemented with a number of new solutions. The main task of the player is to gather resources, develop the base, and produce new units to fight the enemy. For each side there are 12 missions, featuring some adventure elements, where, apart from defending their base and trying to destroy the enemies, the players will also have, for example, to level an enemy city, or go into the underworld to bring back fallen comrades.
